Kahini was started by Afnan because too many people — diaspora Bengalis, partners of diaspora Bengalis and their kids — sit on the outside of their own families. Other apps teach you grammar drills and formal Bangla that no one uses in conversation. They don't teach you what to say to your partner's grandmother at the dinner table. So we built the thing we wish existed.
